Remember that period two or three weeks back when Catholic Writings was not very active? Well, that’s because I had been busy with work.
Now some of you know where I work and what I work as, but most of you don’t. Now seems a good time as any to pull back the veil of anonymity. If you have been following the comments on this blog closely (actually I only know of one person who does!), you will have noticed that I have let slip my identity a number of times already. I guess I just I’m not that big on anonymity anymore, as useful as it can be when discussing matters on sex.
I’m not a public figure though. As I’ve written numerous times to the people I reply to in the comments on this blog: I’m not a priest, not a religious, not a theologian, or any kind of expert in the Catholic Church. I’m just a lay person who wants to share with other Catholics what I know about the Catholic faith. I do that on Catholic Writings, and I do that at work too. Yup, my work involves sharing good news with other Catholics in the diocese and beyond.
In any case, I’ve been busy and setting up a couple of blogs at work. I revamped my company website, set up a sister blog for it called the “What’s On” blog, and introduced work blogging to my bosses.
Over this coming weekend, the Catholics that I reach out to at work will learn about the revamp of my company website, and hopefully many will visit the “What’s On” blog. But only you readers will know about the third blog, which is still at an experimental stage. I thought it’d be good to introduce you to it, before bringing it to the rest of the diocese.
As you can see, my work blog (link fixed) has been up since March, but it is updated considerably less often that Catholic Writings. The latest post on it might be quite interesting to you, especially if you’re a Singapore Catholic. It contains a sneak preview of the results of the Archdiocesan census taken last year. I’ve put it up to obtain some responses from local Catholics… which is actually one of the purposes of that work blog which is still under development.
Still, let me know what you think of these sites by posting comments on those sites directly. If response is good, and the information on them is helpful to local Catholics, then there’s more reason to direct more attention to them.
Thanks for reading!
