Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak with the music director of the upcoming production – Paul The Musical. He was a real fun guy to interview, and fun is the name of his game when it comes to the musical. He wants everyone – the cast, the crew, and the audience – to have fun at this musical.
Rather than putting up a story on Paul the Apostle or Saint Paul, the script calls for an exploration into Paul the Person. What was he like as a person? How did he develop from an average person into a Christian and into the saint that we read of in the Acts of the Apostles? What was his personality like? What were his thoughts during those three days when he was blinded on the road to Damascus? How did he handle the situation he found himself in? I think being the God-fearing Jew that Paul was, he must have prayed a heckuva lot during those three days.
I won’t write too much about it now, because it’s late and I know I’m going to be writing a lot more about this upcoming musical.
